If you want to look for greenery, visit the nearby Rembrandtpark, where you can still barbeque, this is one of the few places in Amsterdam where you can still do this freely.
There are a lot of nice restaurants and cafes in the vicinity such as Bartack with a lovely terrace and on the Mercatorplein Bar Frits and Café Zurich. Amsterdam Zuid is only 10 minutes by bike and also the Vondelpark and the nice restaurants of the Amstelveenseweg are within a few minutes distance by bike. With 15 minutes cycling you are on the Zuidas. In the summer you can cool off at the Sloterplas with the Sloterplasbeach and Sloterplas swimming pool. The A10 west can be accessed via 2 sides, so you are on the highway within 5 minutes. The public transport network is within walking distance, the metro station Postjesweg is only a 3 minute walk (4 minutes to Sloterdijk station). The tram and bus connections are excellent, so you are in the center in no time!
